Ebola also known as Ebola virus or Ebola hemorrhagic fever is a deadly disease, where the person infected by this virus gets high fever, that their start bleeding internally and externally from their body or it may even cause death. Ebola gets its name from Ebola River in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as the disease was first reported from a village near the river in 1976.
Ebola is not transmitted through air, water or being next to the sick people. The virus enters the body through liquid i.e., Ebola spreads when someone touches the body fluids of a sick person or animal. However, if you touch a body of a person who is dead by Ebola than you get infected with the disease.
Scientists aren’t sure from where the disease came, but they think that the virus is transmitted by touching the wet things that came out of the infected animals or eating the infected animals. Ebola can be caught from both humans and animals. It spreads by direct contact with blood, body fluids or tissues of the infected.
It starts with feeling tired, fever, weakness, decreased appetite, muscular pain, joint pain, headache, sore throat, hiccups and red and itchy eyes. The symptoms that tend to follow include: vomiting, trouble breathing, rash, stiffness in the body and bleeding problems - they bleed from their noses, mouths, and genital organs. Then chest pain, shock and death.
Medicine or Treatment:
There is no vaccine or cure available for the disease. However proper care and nursing can help. Infected people need to take a lot of fluid to combat dehydration.
Precautions while nursing:
Ebola can be transmitted by touching a sick person's blood, saliva, mucus, semen, diarrhea, vomit, or other fluids that come out of the body. That's why it's so important wear protective equipment that covers them from head to toe.
1. Please keep the surroundings/environment clean and dry.
2. Get your flu vaccine.
Note: If a person does not die from the disease, he can still give other people the infection by having sex for nearly another two months after they stop being sick. This is because the virus can still be in the man's semen for a long time.
